Barry is Week 8 Head of House and the first confirmed finalist of Big Brother Naija Season 11. He beat Keivo in the final round on Monday, 14 September, picked up an “Ultimate Veto Power” that runs into next week, and used it to save Aikou. Eleven housemates went on the block; the house then won its Week 8 wager and Keivo defended his Arena title.

Confirmed: HoH result, veto and nominees from the official Big Brother Naija site (Day 50 and Day 52), BellaNaija, Pulse, Premium Times and Vanguard; wager and Arena results from the official Day 53 and Day 54 live updates and The Sun.
How Barry won
Monday’s HoH challenge was a three-game knockout that came down to Barry against Keivo in “Wild Climber”: steer a ball through checkpoints using spoons. Barry reached checkpoint 3; Keivo stalled at checkpoint 1. That earned Barry the crown, immunity, a guaranteed seat in the grand finale, and Keivo as his loft guest. Bells drew the bench warmer slot.
The Ultimate Veto Power
This is bigger than the usual HoH veto. Biggie said Barry can influence nominations this week and next week, whatever happens in the Week 9 Head of House challenge. Nominations were a pitch: every housemate got two minutes to tell Barry why they should stay. He saved Aikou.
The choice did not land well. Temi Nkem broke down in the diary room, upset both at Aikou’s earlier remarks about her weight and at not being saved, and later apologised to Barry. Bluethopia gave Barry no chance to explain. Flora called it a wise move.
Week 8 nominees: 11 up for eviction
Bells, Bluethopia, Chimsom Chuka, Flora, Keivo, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem, Tram and Yusuf. Only Barry (HoH) and Aikou (veto save) are immune. Voting ran on the Africa Magic website and the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps until Thursday, 17 September, 10pm WAT.
Wager won: Alice in Wonderland, Naija style
The Week 8 wager was a Nigerian adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, presented on Thursday, 17 September. Biggie passed it, the house got its pool party, and the wager losing streak ended at one after Week 7’s failure. Earlier that day Oyin and Yusuf clashed after he said she was “slaving for Tram” when she fetched him water; she told him and everyone else to mind their business.
Keivo defends the Arena
Friday, 18 September: Keivo won the Betpawa Arena Games again, the first housemate this season to defend the title back to back. Barry was runner-up, and both took home BB Bucks. Saturday was cleaning, campaigning for Most Influential Player and the usual party.
What’s next
Sunday, 20 September, 7pm WAT: the Week 8 live eviction show. With eleven on the block and the finale roughly two weeks away, expect more than one exit. Follow it on the eviction tracker and have your say in the fan polls, a fan poll, not the official vote.
